What it is
Personal planning and prioritisation layer inside Karbon

Overview

My Week brought email, work and priorities into a personal weekly plan, giving users one place to see what needed attention and when.

The product job was not to create another backlog. It was to help people turn a mixed stream of responsibilities into a manageable action plan.

The design challenge was making prioritisation feel active and lightweight, so people could plan the week without losing sight of live work and incoming communication.

A plan for the week

Karbon described My Week as a coordinated but flexible plan for how users should spend their time.

The surface needed to make responsibilities visible without becoming a second inbox. It had to support planning, not just collection.

Designed around mixed inputs

Weekly planning in an accounting practice is not just a task list. Work comes from assigned jobs, client email, internal notes, urgent changes and team coordination.

My Week had to help users identify responsibilities, prioritise time, action emails and notes, and share progress without making the workflow heavier.

Momentum over management

The important product question was whether the page helped people decide what to do next.

That meant surfacing urgency, progress and ownership clearly, while keeping the experience flexible enough for different working styles.

Calendar made the plan real

My Week became more useful when it sat alongside a user’s real Google or Outlook calendar.

Connecting priorities to scheduled time helped teams see the shape of the week, protect deadlines and adjust work before it became a problem.
